Who's going to CERM (the Central Region Meeting) in June? They're holding a Battle of the Chem Clubs (see below) and I need to know who, if anyone wants to be a part of this, to be able respond to the invitation. The 'battle' will be on Saturday, June 9. We will participate if 5 or more members are interested.
Hello,
My name is Matthew Fhaner and I am a graduate student at Michigan State University involved in our local section Younger Chemists' Committee. I would like to invite you all to an event that has been growing among universities within our state called The Battle of the Chemistry Clubs (BCC). This event is a gathering of undergraduate chem clubs from various universities in the region that occurs once a year. In the past two years our ACS chapter of the YCC has became involved in helping come up with events and proctor the day as a means of increasing cooperation between universities and ACS sections. Our event has been given a day at that upcoming Central Regional Meeting of the ACS (CeRMACS) being held in Dearborn this June. We would like to formally invite you to the BCC event being held June 9th. We hope this serves as an opportunity for your graduate programs to not only see what this event is (hopefully increasing interest and activity for future events), but also potentially allow for some recruiting among a very intelligent and involved group of undergraduates. If you are interested or have any questions please let me know and I will happily keep you updated on the schedule as we near the date. Thank you for your time and we hope to see you there. If you are interested please e-mail me back or go to our website: http://msuycc.wordpress.com/upcoming-events/2012-battle-signup/ to sign up. Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing you there.
